A Letter to Myself
Dear Self, You are amazing. You may not feel it that way all the days of the week, but you are. I am proud of every one of your tiny achievements and am cheering for you to continue on that journey. Thank you for not being a quitter. Thank you for choosing to start fresh tomorrow after having an awful today. There is no pain or exhaustion that a night's rest cannot heal. Surrender and lay down in His presence. His mercies are new every morning. There are times when you struggle and you hate yourself. You want to be the best version of yourself but your actions do not reflect it. Did you know that the Apostle Paul had that same difficulty? The Book of Romans gives us a glimpse of how he wanted to do the good thing but ended up doing the evil thing. Please remember that His grace is enough for you, that when you are weak, then He is strong. Thank you for taking time for yourself, physically and spiritually. You are what you eat, thus nourish your body and spirit with a feast when you can. I want to remind you of a few things: You are the righteousness of God. Sin has no power over you. You are blessed. Your friends and your family are blessed because they know you. You are a child of God. Above all, thank you for having a heart for learning and being patient with yourself. Be proud of your scars, they are testimonies of your battles. Time and God’s gentle love will heal the scars. Jesus loves you and so do I
