For He is able!
A little girl who was playing with her friends suddenly had a headache and returned home from the playground. While telling her mother, the young girl fainted. She was carried inside and laid on the bed. With the help of her father, she was taken to the hospital. The doctors did not have an explanation as to the cause of her symptoms. She regained consciousness after a few hours. Bombarded by questions, she could not remember any unusual circumstances apart from the sudden headache. She was then discharged with some medicines. A few months later, the happily playing girl again returned home complaining of another headache and consequently had another couple of hours in unconsciousness. This time, the parents resolved to not only take her to the hospital but also to a person who did religious rituals (Dhami in Lhotshamkha). Satisfied with the thought that the deities were pleased, the family returned home. One year later, while a high school student was walking home from school, he found the young girl lying in the middle of the footpath. He quickly ran back to the school and got help from his teacher, She was again taken to the hospital. The student was one of her neighbors. When the child opened her eyes, she saw her parents and a nurse changing the glucose drip attached to her arm. Again, her only memory was experiencing another headache and then her body getting heavy. The doctors assumed and suggested that it could be epilepsy and alerted the parents that the episodes might become more frequent. She returned home with yet more medicines and a list of food to refrain from. One day, a grandmother in the neighborhood visited the girl’s mother. She came with a message of hope for the family. She asked for the little girl and then prayed for her. The grandmother visited the child’s family for the next couple of days and finally invited them to the fellowship that would be at her house that coming weekend. The mother and the daughter went and attended their very first Christian service. Both of them surrendered that day and found hope in Jesus Christ. A year went by, then another. That girl never again had a headache which led to the loss of consciousness for hours. Eighteen years later, she can testify that she was never again admitted to the hospital after that Sunday service where she decided to surrender to, and obey, God. She has completed her studies and is currently working. She also eats everything that her heart desires. I am that girl. I am healed and I testify for He is truly able! Jesus loves you and so do I.
