My faith-based bucket list

What is a bucket list? It is a list of things that a person desires to do during their lifetime. Reading people's bucket lists is fun because it inspires us to have fun while living our lives. One can come across the most unique ideas while reading them, and they really can open the door to creativity and opportunities.

I have read and come across numerous bucket lists, but never gave a thought to one that is faith-based. So, I thought it would be fun and a new twist to create
faith-based ideas that I hope to accomplish in my life. Hopefully, my bucket list ideas will inspire you and encourage you to have ideas on how you can continue to glorify and seek God.

1.	Go for, or on, a missions work or trip
To be honest, this has always been at the top of my list.

2.	Read the whole Bible
This one is challenging but doable. How many of us have this as a goal?

3.	Get involved in my Church
We are called to be in the community, caring and serving each other. And what better way to do that than to get involved in your church. Involvement and taking responsibility is also a sign of a mature believer.

4.	Visit the Holy Land
Growing up reading and listening to the writings from the Bible has always made me imagine the landscapes and the people of that area, which ultimately led to me wishing to visit Israel, the land of the Bible. Seeing and experiencing all the real places mentioned in the Bible will bring the Word to life,

5.	Win someone to Jesus
There is the involvement of two parties for this to be successful. We are asked to sow and water the seed of salvation by witnessing. Making that seed grow in the heart of the receiver is God’s part. To do this, first, pray about it. Secondly, prepare yourself. Finally, start talking with people. If it is as difficult for you as it is for me, then show His love through your actions and words.

6.	Memorize an entire chapter of the Bible
Choose a chapter that delights your soul and speaks deeply to your heart. A few that I have memorized are Psalms 1, 23, 139, and John 15. The best way to accomplish this is to read your chapter of choice, again and again, while thinking about, and meditating on it. Next, write down the whole chapter. Lastly, say it out loud to yourself frequently, until you have it memorized.

7.	Do a random act of kindness
In the past year, the youth in my church decided to cultivate the habit of doing random acts of kindness (RAOK) and then sharing their experiences the next time we met. As a result, everyone had a happy experience and a good feeling to share. If these RAOK had that much of a positive impact on those who performed them, I cannot imagine the impact on the receivers.
Remember, RAOK should be cultivated into a daily continuous habit.

8.	Conquer fasting
There are different kinds of fasting; Esther’s Fasting, Daniel’s fasting, liquid fasting, and many more. I cannot emphasize enough how powerful it is to combine your prayer life with fasting. Denying your body and leaning towards His Spirit. Fasting is not only spiritual but also beneficial, according to science.

9.	Forgive each other
When faced with the difficulty to forgive someone, remember that you are forgiven every time you repent to God. We are to forgive the same way that He forgives us. When we refuse to forgive, we are keeping our hearts in a spiritual prison. Forgive, forget, and be set free!

10.	Make your own bucket list
We are all different, no two people’s bucket lists will be alike.
I made mine, now you make your list.
I dare you.

Making a bucket list is a great way to set goals for yourself and even for your family. If it is faith-based, it will help you to stay focused and learn more about God.
Jesus loves you and so do I.
